First off I'm not gay. I'm a happily married heterosexual male. However I enjoy reading the news, and over the past few months. I have been reading story after story about gays rights. So I figured I'd post something I haven't read as being used in your legal struggles. Here's one to try, and i believe you'll find it has both more legal merit and pull. then just civil rights issues, and here is my resoning behind my suggestion. 1 civil rights are determined by the thought processess of those currently in power, and voter thought process. so if you live in a highly RELIGOUS community/state etc. You're bound to be the minority vote. So instead of leaving it up to your neighbors. take it out of their hands by attempting this law Separation of church and state is a political and legal doctrine that government and religious institutions are to be kept separate and independent from each other.[1] The term most often refers to the combination of two principles: secularity of government and freedom of religious exercise. Keep in mind. that the very defintion used by those trying to oppose your marriage stems from a religous ritual started thousands of years ago by the church. Marriage is defined as one man and one woman. which do a little research comes from the church. So instead of trying to fight it as a civil rights issue. fight to get it legally defined and broken away from the churches defintion.
